What is Markdown?

Markdown Support

The supported Markdown syntax is as follows:

Multi-Functional Themes JotterPad offers features such as Markdown, night vision, extended keyboard, and dark theme.
Research The research function incorporates a built in Dictionary, Thesaurus, and Rhyming Dictionary, so that users are able to lookup words easily.
File Export Formats Users can convert their text files into TXT, DOCX, RTF, PDF, and HTML using the export function.
Cloud Integration The latest version of JotterPad added a Cloud Integration, which supports multiple Cloud Hosts. The Cloud Integration supports Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Dropbox.
Manage Screenplay JotterPad Pro supports writing in Fountain, and converts the script into a professional screenplay when exported as Final Draft (FDX). The Screenplay Management function makes it easier to make changes to character names and scene placements; simply drag and rearrange.

Typography, Themes and Languages

Typography

In JotterPad Android “Me” section (previously labelled as Appearance), you can change the font type for title and body text, font size, text alignment, margin, vertical line height, themes and languages.

In JotterPad iOS "Me" section, you can change the font type for title and body text, font size, margin, vertical line height, themes and ligatures.

In JotterPad Mac Preferences, you can change the font type for title and body text, font size, margin, vertical line height, themes and ligatures.

In JotterPad Web Settings, you can change the font type for title and body text, font size, margin, vertical line height, themes, ligatures and languages.

Select predetermined typography from essay to screenplay.

Storage Permission in Android 11

Due to the implementation of new files access permissions to protect user privacy on devices that run on Android 11 and higher, JotterPad Android will be making several changes to file access and storage.

Here are the 2 main changes that will be coming your way:

JotterPad local access is changing to a private app directory
External files will have to be imported into JotterPad

How does it affect you?

Summary:

Files will now be saved on a private directory
Uninstalling JotterPad will now delete these files from your device
Files from external directories have to be imported into JotterPad via Android systems
Will not affect those who use cloud storage

To protect your personal and private information from malicious third-party apps

Mind map can be created using Markdown syntax in JotterPad's Markdown code block. To declare mind map in the code block to be rendered globally, use codeBlockRenderAs: markmap in the Markdown file's YAML.

To declare mind map to render on individual code block,

Type 3 backticks (```) at the start of the code followed by space or return key.
Press the </> button at the top right corner.
Choose markmap.
Add renderAs=markmap in metadata.
